After the Southampton game, I posted in here and got criticized for saying that if I could find 1 fault, it was that we didn't go for another goal, mainly in the second half, where we couldn't get into good positions in their box. I felt a few shots from outside the box would have helped us maybe get the 4th goal.
There was hardly much space for us to get into good positions in the Chelsea box. Our goal came from a world class strike from outside the box. Salah did take a shot from distances as well.
I still feel we need to take a few shots from outside the box, instead of always trying to work the ball into the net. We are going to come up against sides with good defense who will hold a good line, but, with long shots as a threat, it will give us space as they will be looking out for that as well.

5 players out, 3 players in. 20 million transfer budget (above what is made from sales) . Who would be the 5 out and 3 in?

Our closest rivals last season was City (1st) and Chelsea (3rd) .
City lost 1 of their best defenders, a player who's goal arguably won them the title.
Chelsea lost their best player.
We didn't do any major signing, but we kept our squad almost intact. We may have not strengthened in terms of new signings, but we didn't weaken either.

Look at who City dropped points against this season, it wasnt always against the top 6 teams. there's STILL HOPE.

Firstly if we see fault with our team, it does not make us any less passionate or a fan than the next person.
Those that are saying we not playing as well as we should, are not saying we should go back to our strategy of last season. All we are saying is that we have drastically improved our defense and keeper, so if we played the attacking football of last season, or close to that, with some caution, we would be playing better. We not asking for 5-4 wins.

We expressing that we are not playing to ALL our strengths yet.
If Sturridge didn't score that last minute goal against Chelsea, if Mahrez scored the penalty and if the goal Fulham scored stood (we have had bad decisions given against us) . We could be 5 points less. With potentially 3 losses. Chelsea and City could have 2 more points each as well. Now I'm not say this to say that we were lucky, my point of this is, woukd everyone still be happy if these 3 things happened?

Because honestly, that would put us in a position we were last season, when most were not so happy. I think Klopp also feels we need to improve in our attack.
Our "criticism" should not be taken as a negative vibe against the team, all we saying is we do need to improve in our midfield when we are attacked. And improve in midfeild and attack linking when we attack.

For us to improve on our league position from last year, we have to win more games. Its simple.
So we either have to score more goals or concede less.
Coutinho score about 10 goals (not sure of the exact number) .
Salah has a season of a lifetime, so he may score about 10 less goals this season.
That's 20 goals less.
Now Keita may score a few and maybe Shaqiri will score a few.
Would the addition of Alisson and VVD prevent us from scoring 10 goals? That would bring us to about the same goals scored to goals conceded difference to last year. Where does the improvement on either more goals or less goals being conceded come from?
We may just need a Coutinho replacement.

Soccer is basically a battle between scoring goals and preventing goals being scored.
So ideally, if an outfield player (forward or midfield) has the right technique and temperament, he should score every time.
But, if the defender and or keeper has the right technique and temperament, they should prevent the goal from being scored every time.

So there has to be human error or lack of concentration or just a plain simply, I player doing a better job at that point.
Sometimes the error or lack of concentration seems worse.
Keepers will make mistakes. Defenders will make mistakes. That's how we end up with goals.

Strikers do make mistakes. That's how we don't end up with games with ridiculous scores at times.
When our players score, we feel they were brilliant. When the other team scores, we feel our defense or Kepler messed up.
My point is, yes Karius messed up in the biggest way at the wrong time. But how many times have the oppositions keeper messed up to allow us to score?
