Well done to our boys. Masterful performance throughout a long and tedious season, with only one defeat. It's those 5 away draws (7 overall) that made life more difficult for us than it could have been. The best defense in the league; two players as joint Golden Boot winners.

Onwards to June 1st. I'm confident Klopp will manage the boys well and not let any loss of self confidence or low morale seep in. And the boys have a point to prove. It's okay if ManC are the best in England, we can be the best in Europe. That's no second best in my book.

Announced lineup today: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Klopp is obviously going with a 4-2-3-1 to counter Rafa's expected 5-4-1. Key for us will be how well Wijnaldum plays and how aggressive he will be in pushing the ball forward against that packed midfield and back 5.

Some additional points from the game that have not already been mentioned.

1) Klopp got his substitutions right, this time. People always mention when he is too slow or the wrong ones are made. Bringing on Origi was genius, with hindsight, of course. Let's give the man his due. And people are not wrong in now saying Origi should be given his shot ahead of Solanke and Sturridge as a sub. He certainly seems mentally ready to take on the job, now.

2) That running onto the pitch to celebrate with Alisson, will be the stuff of legend, I tell you. Never seen anything like it (by a manager) in my decades of watching football. Nothing fires up a team more than knowing your manager is with you (in spirit) on the playing field. What a character this Jurgen Klopp is. Hope the FA takes a very lenient view of all this.

3) Richarlison is probably spending too much time with his pal Neymar in the national side and learning some of his tricks. Every striker knows he's a target, so what's with the getting up and confronting the other player every time? Look at Salah. Gets just as much physical "attention", and yet he just gets up and get's on with it.

Today's game was the perfect example of why we're a very serious title contender. We kept plugging away at a team that was playing with several buses parked in front of their goal. Sometimes 8 players in the back line (seriously, I counted it once) . We were very patient and constantly probing, constantly searching for an opening without taking any risks. Keeping possesion and control of the ball, throughout the game. And we showed why teams will always fear us, because one small mistake and we're on the counterattack with that devastating speed and finishing execution. We have that danger from set pieces (Shaqiri and TAA) that Coutinho always provided, too.

I also want to point out what a beast that Doucoure is. In that one particular one on one with Fabinho, he outran him and outmuscled him and then did the same to a couple of others. I must say I am a bit disapointed with Hendo, though. I expect the Captain to show poise, calm and self-control at all times. It doesn't matter that he probably is experiencing a lot of anxiety due to various injuries over the past couple of years and can't seem to put together a string of amazing games. But I still expect the Captain to keep it together at all times, and not get sent off. I'm sure he would want to play the derby; now he can't.

Perfect. Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Mane, Salah and Firmino, announced as the starting line up. Our best against their best. Let's get ready to Rumble! 💪.
