I know and agree that's stats should always be taken with a pinch of salt. Having said that, they can be a good starting point for discussion, and with that in mind, did anyone else see the sky sports article that "found" January statistically our worst month since the premier league started? That surprised me. I would have picked november. Remember loads of them where we totally went off the boil

I was wondering if the eds could provide some insight into the actual role of the captain in modern day football. So much is made of it, but exactly how necessary are they? Of course they can be an example to younger kids/ players and a leader on the pitch, but surely any senior can be, and often is that. Is there more behind the scenes aspects to it, or is the role more these days a focal point for the media?

. I think the goalkeeper problem is a trickier one to sort than people are realising. Say we get off migs and bogs. Then what? Try and find a top class one and leave ward as number 2?

What about promoting ward and finding a new back up? Op p.

What happened to "you'll never walk alone"? Used to think it meant something, a mantra that we have each others backs. A war cry telling the other team we will support our lads till the end. Never have I seen our fans so at odds with one another. Never have I seen us disrespect our team so.
I wholeheartedly support demonstrations over ticket prices, but this is a nationwide problem, and is not isolated to our hallowed ground. There are far better ways to demonstrate this that must be done with all supporters as one.
"we" did nothing today but embarrass ourselves.

Whilst I have no problem per se with teixera jogging on to China (and good luck to him), I do get miffed when people start comparing our normal jobs to that of a footballer. Of course we would move in an instant. But we aren't in professions where we compete for personal and team glories, trophies and medals. Sport is a competition. Supporters wasn't their players to have ambition past earning a wage. Our daily 9 to 5's are not remotely comparable.
