Getting away from the Nunez bashing for a minute I thought we did a professional job tonight.
Got a very dodgy penalty but got the job done without getting out of first gear and without any injuries.
On to Fulham ??.

Yet another functional performance and win.
We are just a point away from being guaranteed automatic qualification to the knock out stages. Hoping we do rotate more in the last 2 games
Alisson absolute boss on his return
We may have won if he played against Arsenal and will definitely have had all 3 pts against Newcastle. There simply isn't another keeper out there better than him and his 1 v 1s are out of this world. To score against him in that situation, you got to be absolutely precise and decisive. Just one extra touch, indecision, even great footwork to avoid the last defender chasing back that delays you that little bit and he'll close you down completely. We have missed him.
Here's to hoping we get back to winning ways in the league and pull away again.

Got to admit arne slot just seems to get better and better, love his honesty in analysing the teams performance, no excuses no bulls@#t just an honest assessment of how we played, with only a third of the season in to get across his ideas, I think things can only improve on a near perfect start which seems crazy, I know there will be bumps in the road but in arne I trust .

Glad we are going with a strong line up this evening - make the qualification official and keep some Rhythm. In saying that, I thought it was a great chance to protect Grav and/ or VVD with how much we have been leaning on them this season.

Curtis Jones versus Tottenham 2023 - red card.
Moises Caicedo versus Tottenham 2024 - not a red card because of lack of intensity.
They're literally making it up as they go along!

Football is shown to be such a small thing when incidents like the horrid Michail Antonio car crash occur. I'm sure he is in the thoughts of most decent football fans who pray for him and his family. We all pray for a swift recovery #YNWA.

Tricky games for our rivals today. Fulham are no mugs, as their league position suggests and hopefully the right version of Spurs turns up. Coupled with the storm Darragh enforced rest, it could turn into a brilliant weekend for the red men.

The arsenal page seems to think this liverpool squad is there for the taking. I think they are underestimating our squad, four of our first choice back five have won the league along with the champions league and more with us. Add mo up front half our first team have been there bone that. The rest are young and hungry for success. I think if we get to January six clear we will take some stopping.

I know this may sound crazy, but I had a bad feeling about going to Everton after they've just won and we've just lost, on a stormy day, and with key injuries. I'm glad it got called off.

With the move to Adidas kits next year, does that ever have a bearing on which agents push, what deals are to be had, or even if players are signed to placate the shirt sponsor with regards to image rights? I'm thinking of Trent's boot deal here with some small hope.

Isn't it funny how the energy on this site changes and people's opinions. I am so glad our managers seems a lot more level headed. And I hold my hand up that I am not level headed but quite emotional. I was screaming at a tv in the corner and getting angry, down and exhilarated watching the last game.
I think this league is so competitive and if you are at the top then everyone wants your scalp. Newcastle certainly did and played with more energy and will to win than us in the first half. We have been superb for 2 games and that level can't carry to every game.
Quite a few were off the pace and it showed but how good is it that we turned it around again and should have won. We have a brilliant team and we need to enjoy the ride. No game is easy and points will be dropped.
I think Chelsea will have a say and the usual suspects but there are loads of very good players in this league.
One thing that I noted after was the claims by Newcastle of bad refereeing for the Quansah tackle but he clearly took the ball. The VVD on Gordon. Probably a bit too much but never going to be a sending off. And do you not think he deserved it for being a cheat!
How many times did he DIVE and get players booked. It is just that. cheating and players should be pulled up on it including ours.
You should win games by being the better team not the best at gamesmanship which is cheating!

Think tomorrow is absolutely crucial game for us, if we could win it's been an excellent week, the point at Newcastle is a good point.
Legs look an issue understandably, not sure our squad is as strong as people make out. I think he will need to freshen it up, I'd go for :
Kelleher, trent, quansah, vvd, gomez.
Endo, Jones, szobo. Elliott, nunez, diaz
I think robbo+grav need a breather, also I'd try and get half out of Elliott and take salah on for 2nd half, he played a lot of minutes recently and I'd be careful with him. Also I don't think there be much football played 1st half, Everton won't let us play but game should open out bit more in 2nd half and try and finish game with your best team on the field.

Apparently, since joining Liverpool, Jota has played 104 games and missed 78.
I mean what a life, play a little bit of footie in your spare time, get injured, then back home to play computer games at your leisure. I kinda respect the hustle.
05 Dec 2024 12:15:16
So guys how are lfc going to fix the back four issue with quansah
I think he has to play centre back the next time as in whenever he's selected
With Gomez playing centre it just leaves a big hole at right back when Trent is being managed
I'm not sure if their are any other academy players coming through in that position
I do strongly believe that these small issues make a big difference
And now with so many games coming up
I'm
Really hoping for a quick return of the injured players so we continue and push for a strong second half of the season.

A little perspective on last nights game. Yes we did struggle but there were reasons for that:
First - the injuries to Konate and Bradley impacted us.
Secondly I think we underestimate the effort we put in to those two games v Madrid and City. Yes we won them and relatively well but they were not 'easy' games. We had just 2 days recovery really. I think that showed in all players on the field - even Salah for the first hour.
Thirdly Newcastle were up for it and credit to them for that - they can turn over any team at home when in that mindset.
Despite all that we could have won. That's the positive news.
Everton having a relatively easy game last night means they will be fresh and ready for Saturday. We will now have just another 2 proper days recovery from another tough game and as well as the injuries we will be missing McAllister (soft booking) . If we can somehow manage to scrape a win (and to me that will be really hard), the match v Girona becomes one to give game time to others (Endo, Nyoni, Chiesa, Morton - and McAllister) . Losing that is not the end of the world even if losing any game is not good. Think Grav needs a rest - looked shattered last night. Not sure we can afford to be without him v Everton though.

Good evening, so I keep reading on here that Konate signed a new deal but he didn't. As a matter of fact negotiations are still ongoing with him too as his "team" has rejected a couple of offers already but its getting closer apparently, Diaz rejected a Contract offer as well, an offer that apparently upset him a bit as he is on 55k a week and the likes of Jota, Macca, Gakpo are all on over 120k a week. only managed to tie down Quansah so far these lot since the summer. Great negotiators honestly maybe the best?!
05 Dec 2024 20:12:10
I love Salah. I really do. I want him to break all the scoring records with Liverpool. But I hate the way his performances improve whenever a contract is being negotiated. It happened 3 years ago, he got his improved terms, and then the performances dropped off markedly in the interim. I lost count the number of times last season that I said ‘that was not worth £350k this week, Mo. Hope it doesn’t happen again.
