ETH is just not a very good manager.

It was obvious to anyone that their only attacking threat was Trashford’s pace (as rubbish as he is) and that Fernandes was just an empty shirt. It was also obvious that they were being overrun in midfield. So what does he do? He takes of Trashford and puts on another empty shirt in Anthony. Crazy decision.

Just take off Fernandes (the most overrated player of recent times) and put on Amrabat. Try to bolster the midfield and stop them playing through, then you can win more balls and put it over the top for Trashford. You might just nick another goal.

Instead he decides to play with 2 useless wingers and an even more useless forward in Fernandes. It just opened up the midfield, took away any threat they had posed during the game and handed the game to City.

We’ve seen over the past few weeks with ourselves just what can be done with inferior players if you just trust them and give them belief. It allows them to play with freedom and show their talent.

ETH is as far away from that as you can get. He has no trust in his players to go out and get a result and saps their confidence with each decision he makes.

I hope they give him the longest contract in the history of football, it’s beautiful to see.

Anyone seen Postecoglu’s presser today? I’ve lost all respect for him and I’ve lost all respect for Spurs.

He’s basically saying he doesn’t care if it’s fair or not we’ll take the points.

Absolute cheat.

I tell you what I’m so glad I’m a Liverpool fan.

Just watched some of City’s game last night and could you imagine challenging for a 4th title in a row and half the fans can’t be bothered to turn up? So many empty seats it’s laughable.

If ever there was a club that doesn’t deserve the riches that have been fortunately bestowed upon them it’s City.

They simply don’t belong where they are they are unrecognisable from the proper football club that had £40,000 fans turning up to a league 1 game. It’s absolutely shocking to me.

Football is a funny old game that moves at such a fast pace.

A few weeks ago if we’d have been going into a game away at Arsenal with 20 year old Connor Bradley having to deputise for Trent we would be in a spin and expecting the worst.

Now, with the sad news of Connor’s father passing away we are gutted about Trent having to deputise for Connor! lol.

In the words of Ferris Bueller, Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.

Pressed send too early sorry.

The second half started as a much more even contest with us doing much better with the ball and starting to play our football. Jones and Grav got on the ball more and we were having some shots and getting higher up the pitch.

Then they lump a clearance forward and VVD and Ali gift them the softest goal you’ll ever see.

From that point our game plan is gone. Arsenal could then sit deeper and deny us the space we would’ve undoubtably got had they been pushing for a winner. The pace of Nunez is nullified as there’s no space in behind. Klopp has to now think on the fly as it’s now us that needs to do the pushing. The crowd are up and suddenly they have their momentum back.

Arsenal are just trying to hold on to what they have with the crowd screaming them into every tackle. Then Konate gets sent off so we have to take risks and we get caught in the RB area with no RB on the pitch.

My point is the game was absolutely there for the taking until the second goal. No we weren’t at our scintillating best but Arsenal were never going to allow us to be. We had to get to the latter stages when they were getting desperate and use our better forwards to win the game.

Unfortunately gifting them that second goal never allowed that to happen so the performance looks slow and laboured but that’s how it was supposed to be to get us to the part of the game where we could push on. We ended the game having more possession than them which shows you what our priority was in the first part of the game.

We just never got to see it through because of a defensive mistake.

That’s my take on it, a poor performance yes but you have to understand tactics and momentum in these extremely tight games to give you the full story.

Since people on here don’t seem to agree with me on this I’ll give you my reasons for thinking that this was not as bad a performance as most on here seem to think it was.

These top of the table clashes are tough and you very rarely get a game where one team is completely dominant over another. Both teams have spells of dominance but quite often it’s the home team that starts the game better as the fans are up and they have home advantage. ‘You have to quieten the crowd’ and all that.

For me, I fully expected Arsenal to be all over us for the first half an hour but all we had to do was try to take the sting out of the game and I think the starting line up with Gakpo in for Nunez was designed to do just that. We did ok although we could’ve been better with the ball but they were not creating a lot of chances so we were ok.

They got their goal and we just kept doing the same thing, slowing the game down, keeping possession and limiting their chances.

We then get a rather fortuitous goal but great tenacity from Diaz and we go in level. Job done.

I know it’s been said on here before but this rhetoric around Trent’s defending is as ridiculous as it is lazy.

We had Lineker picking out the 2 times Martinelli (an apparent elite winger) went past him and used that as proof that Trent is weak defensively.

They don’t do that for any other fullback in the league, only Trent.

I don’t know any defender in the world that doesn’t get beat by a winger sometimes. It’s just so lazy from the media to keep pushing this agenda.

They completely ignore any of his good defensive work, of which there was plenty today. It just winds me right up.
