Who is everyones favourite non Liverpool (active) player?

Kante is my number 1, with Cazorla, Iniesta, De Bruyne, Falcao, Vidal and Hummels up there.

Relieved to hear that Bobby Duncan has split from that self-serving leech of an agent. He's still a young lad who hopefully has a better support system moving forwards.

£80 million on Maguire. That’s made my week. No club has unlimited funds and that’s going to really hurt MUFC in the long run. I wouldn’t pay half of that for him. With Alderweireld available I was worried they’d bring in a defender of his class.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Firmino starting coincided with Brazil winning their first Copa America in 11 years. It's not just his drive and workmate but ability to link up a (seemingly disjointed) forward line. Jesus had been struggling with the national team before this tournament and Everton was a new introduction. The fact that he does this while still getting great numbers himself is amazing (as opposed to a Giroud with France, who's just as vital) . He's at his best as a 9 and I can't understand fan's wanting to move him further back. there's a reason the entire forward line gets stellar numbers as opposed to just him (for club and country) .

Everton (3 goals, 1 assist) Top scorer of the tournament
Firmino (2 goals, 3 assists)
Gabriel Jesus (2 goals, 2 assists)

Was reading an article that Brighton are to offer free sanitary products to female fans as part of the 'On the ball' campaign. The On the Ball campaign seems a great way of generating awareness (sanitary products are currently taxed as a luxury product in this country, completely absurd. What are they meant to do otherwise? A luxury product? ) and it's nice to see Brighton on board. The article mentioned that Liverpool are considering bringing it in as well, can any of the eds confirm if there's any truth to this?

Sakho suing Wada is interesting. Ultimately I think it was his disciplinary issues that resulted in him leaving, but it may well have had an impact on his France career. If I remember correctly Deschamps was a fan. Curious to see how it plays out. From what I know of the case it does seem like the lad was hard done by. From a Liverpool standpoint it may well have had an influence on the final.

Stats aren't necessarily indicative of how good a player is, but I found it interesting that Alisson has the highest save success percentage (78%), the highest clean sheet percentage (55%), and also the lowest goals against per 90 minutes (0.58) in the league. Save percentage being the one that stands out to me. Room to grow as well, what a keeper.

Mane's penalty miss wasn't a big deal yesterday and I quite like attacking players taking him to help with confidence. But I do wonder if Fabinho should be in the mix when it comes to them, he missed one in pre-season but his records is pretty fantastic. Thoughts?

Baring a silly mistake on Alison’s part that could have well been a 2-0 today. Even then if ever there was a time for him to make that mistake, it was then. Early on in the season in a game where we still won, keepers get pressed more aggressively in the prem and that takes getting used to.

The team hasn’t clicked yet but having watched the Chelsea and Man City games it’s pretty clear that none of the top teams have. Individual players are having there moments but I think everyone is experiencing a World Cup hangover. Best is yet to come. Only real complaint I have is that I wish Klopp wouldn’t change the back line when we’re under pressure.

When Liverpool field a weakened team for cup games I’d love to see us play solanke up front with sturridge in behind.

Solanke looked his best against Brighton with firmino there for added support and Sturridge seems to be adapting his game since losing a yard of pace. I think they’d compliment each other.
