Wow, Saudi Arabia has just won the bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034. Somehow, there were no conuter-bids and Australia withdrew from the race last minute. A World Cup in Australia would have been fun; lots of Liverpool and Manuchester United fans out there.
It's logical to expect that the Arabian influence on football is here to stay, at least until 2034!

I'm thinking about Gini Wijnaldum tonight. To miss out on all of these must be hard to take, considering the yo-yo season he's had. I just wonder if he'd be there to cheer his old boys up.
Wow, Liverpool! We've come a long way, haven't we?

Inter, Liverpool, Atalanta, Malmo.
Those are my predictions for tomorrow's draw. What are yours?

David Coofe, VAR, Manchester United, Penalties!

Harvey Elliott and Takumi to come in the second half, or as a swap for Shaqiri and Origi, respectively, in the starting 11.
What have you got?

Just forget about the tribalism and partisanship in football these days; the refereeing standards need to improve across board a few notches. Simon Hooper was wrong yesterday, and if that was Liverpool, I don't know how I'd feel. How are these officials able to get away with these poor calls week after week? Now I hear Haaland should be sanctioned for cussing. What do you do to the referee for triggering the curse? Players get banned for being upset at refs, yet the refs get retarded for substandard job done.

In a very tribal game, I understand the desire to move on and how easy it is to fall back on the well scripted refrain: "always the victim. " But if you've missed out on winning the league by one point two times in the last seven or so years, I can understand why a blatant error like this cannot and should not be taken as trivial. This is not another random subjective call. This is a blatant chalking off of a legitimate goal. It might be a huge but honest error, but my goodness, an important line in football integrity and ultimate deference to the refs was crossed there. In Medicine, it is beneficence; it is the idea that you never should do any wrong. When an official of the game decides the destiny of a game like it happened last weekend, it is only fair that we allow some uncomfortable conversations that could drive change happen subsequently. Anything short of that is travesty.
My two cents. Walk on. YNWA.

I have a feeling another Messi reunion is in the works for the round of 16. If not, it might be Inter.
Who's your favorite team to play in th he next round?

Does anyone feel the game vs. West Ham is ideal for Origi? I have a feeling he'll start that game. What do y'all think?

I know it's still small sample size and all that, but based on early form, this feels like 2018 all over again, and it might take closer to 100 points to win the league!
