Unbelievable, the professor has gone for exactly the same "stodge" midfield that has lost to Roma, Real Madrid, Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and PSG in consecutive games.

I thought that the definition of madness was doing exactly he same thing and expecting a different result. He has clearly elected to leave the competition which at least gives us eight cup-finals till the end of the season.

Permanent moves for - Allen, Canos, Caulker, (loan return), Cleary, Enrique, Ibe, McLaughlin, Marsh, O'Hanlon, Polgar, Rossiter, Sinclair, Skrtel, Smith, Teixeira, Toure, Vigouroux and Yesil.

Loan moves for - Bogdan, Fulton, Kent and Ward.

On top of these, Allan Rodrigues is training with Hertha Berlin (work permit) and the Dutch press have announced that Taiwo Awoniyi is joining NEC Nijmegen for a year (work permit.

And were still only in July!

I thought Sturridge was awesome yesterday. He seems to have been around the Premiership forever yet still hasn't started 100 league games, due to his bad luck over the years.

He has 67 goals in 99 league starts and I hope he adds to that on Wednesday!

So, there we have it, Benteke's Anfield career consists of 12 Premiership starts and is over in the blink of an eye.

Personally I lay no blame at his door, my four year old grandson could see he would never make a Liverpool player .

A little bit of effort would have been welcome though.
