Rafa has got Everton looking something like anyway. They played really well at Old Trafford there, I enjoyed that game.
Good industry, good team spirit and a definite threat on the counter.
Demarai Gray looks a top player too.

On the subject of Steve McMahon, does anyone remember that pearler of an elbow he gave Gazza one afternoon, I think it was an FA Cup tie at WHL?
Oh dear, full on 💥 and he only got a booking lol.
I wonder what Macca would make of Jack Grealish, ooofff?

Not Lfc-related particularly unless Juergen Klopp is a keen biscuit-dunker like me.
In life's quieter moments, my mind drifts to random thoughts, and I was musing how much more easily and quickly the modern biscuit falls apart when dunked in a cuppa compared to days of yore.
I can console myself however that this is hopefully due to the decreased amount of hydrogenated fats in said biscuit.
In other words, less sticky but better for the old ticker.
Good news for dunkers of the U.K. 😄.

Just watching that City v Chelsea game yesterday, it's like football has regressed a generation again.
I like watching Man City, whoever they play (apart from Liverpool) doesn't affect their style. You can criticise Guardiola but his teams produce attractive football.

Tuchel has just gone to this same old 10 men behind the ball tactic. They've invested a lot of money in buying progressive and creative footballers and then that's the end result?
Give me a break.

I had the pleasure yesterday of watching an old Ajax v Bayern Munich European Cup QF from 1973, proper football.
Ajax were some side with Cruyff, they were at least 20 years ahead of their time.
Infinitely more attractive on the eye.

Absolutely fuming.
There's no way that was a red card, yellow yes, fair enough.
But now they've gone and spoiled the game again.
Have these people never kicked a football in their lives or what?
The hard-earned money that the Liverpool fans have spent to get down there.
I've turned the game off in disgust, getting sick of this crap.

Just reading that Salah picked up another injury (or a continuation of the same problem more likely) on international duty with Egypt but refused to come back to Liverpool for a scan apparently.
I know Egypt are very sensitive when it comes to Salah but slightly disappointing, speaking as a Lfc fan of course) that Salah didn't listen to the club.
Another sign that all is not well?

A fitting tribute paid by the Liverpool team tonight with that fantastic win in Porto, I’m sure that Roger Hunt would have been chuffed with that.
Especially young Curtis Jones’ performance too, his best ever for Liverpool I think, came of age well and truly.
RIP Sir Roger Hunt.

A big test for the team, the CBs and especially Liverpool's player of the month Nat Phillips today.
The Emirates was often something of a grave yard for Liverpool central defenders, Carragher was often given a torrid time there.
On paper Arsenal have a handy side, with plenty of pace and attacking talent.
To what extent Arteta uses that talent will be interesting.
There's no reason why Arsenal need to be overly-defensive, Liverpool are there to be got at.
But whether they risk going for a head-to-head, or stand off, will tell us if Arteta has progressed much in his 16 months tenure so far.
I'm not quite sure what his brief was when he took over but I'm pretty sure it wasn't negative football. We'll see, I guess.

A lesson in how to throw away a game.
Almost the perfect away performance and then Thiago boldly goes where no advanced midfielder has gone before.

Given the schedule over the next fortnight, I'd have taken three points and a poor performance all day long though.
I bet Klopp and the team would too, so I'll give them a bye for this one.
Three huge matches coming up.
1-1 draw at Anfield, beat Everton, then 2-2 at City.
Goodnight Vienna.
