South American tactics, knew this was going to happen.

Ah, Mane is getting some right treatment in the Algeria game.

Cardiff have gone and beaten Brighton.
That's going to be a right battle down at theirs now.
We could do with an early goal tomorrow night if possible, settle things down.
Maybe Barcelona in the semis too, the lads would have to run their legs off to get anything out of that.
Full on finish to the season.
Hopefully get Joe back in a week or two, that could be very timely, especially if we progress in the CL.

Did anyone watch the news last night?
The Labour conference is from Liverpool and I'm sure I saw one of the lads off The Anfield Wrap on the telly, carrying a banner (not LFC) at the front of the Brexit march?

Well, that's another glimpse of Fekir and I still don't know what all the fuss is about?

Not Liverpool related but why have Watford sacked Pearson?
Makes no sense, he's done a decent enough job in difficult circumstances?

Crystal Palace again tonight.
Whilst not exactly a bogey team, I'm always apprehensive when we play them and today feels no different.
I'm expecting a tough game this evening, they're not easy to break down and carry a real threat on the counter too.
I watched their match at Bournemouth and they were impressive.
I wouldn't be shocked to see a draw tonight but, obviously, would settle for a win however hard fought.

An article in The Times by Matthew Syed apparently about the management of risk and Project Restart. I've not read it fully (not a subscriber) but I did hear him talk about it on the radio earlier.

He's articulated some of what I posted a couple of days ago and I agree with him.
Things are very slowly re-starting and football should play its part in this process if at all possible.

I'm not sure about tales of packed public transport in London this morning, that doesn't sound good.
But, all being well, come June we see further progress and a diminished R rate of the virus, and hopefully PL football is back on the cards.

AFCON and Olympics eh?
Perhaps an answer to the loss of the front three players is a change of formation?
Get a top notch AM in Summer and switch / broaden the emphasis of the firepower?

Please trust Klopp and his management team. We've seen them become very clever tactically in the past season and a half and this is just another (temporary) hurdle to jump. It'll get sorted.

As the Kop sang their carols at Christmas time, three spirits visited Anfield this winter's eve -
The first, the shackled ghost of Tony Curry, wrapped in chains with an iron football manacled to his feet, wailing to be set free.
The second spirit, the ghost of Christmas past. A lean, poised Scots central defender, striding forward with ball at feet from penalty box to penalty box.
And the final spirit, the ghost of Christmas present. A colourful spirit, dressed as an Egyptian King, flitting hither and tither, spreading joy where he stepped.
And Ebenezer Jose witnessed the spirits and vowed to change and to forever keep the spirit of Anfield at Christmas in his heart.

Given the schedule over the next fortnight, I'd have taken three points and a poor performance all day long though.
I bet Klopp and the team would too, so I'll give them a bye for this one.
Three huge matches coming up.
1-1 draw at Anfield, beat Everton, then 2-2 at City.
Goodnight Vienna.
