Bobby Clark to RBL with Pep for 12m. Guess he wants game time now but surely a loan is best.

Spending was down over a third I think it was this past window in the PL?
40% down mate and basically we were one for the few clubs that could have "splurged", but it now comes with greater risk.
This is no "market correction" when you've got a club like Man Utd who had to sell to buy anyone at all to balance the books, you know the chickens are home to roost for many clubs.
Swiss Ramble have a very good piece on club finances, which is a horror show for PL clubs. Operating losses more than tripled, from £413m ($542.3m) in 2018-19 (the last year pre-pandemic) to £1.338bn ($1.75bn) in 2022-23. Factor in player sales -- some of which is down to all that player swaps and amortisation stuff you hear about -- and the numbers improve, but not by much: from a £181m ($237m) loss in 2018-19 to a 2022-23 loss of £710m ($932m) .
So, when Liverpool announce a £9mill loss, we can rest easy that this club will be at the bottom end of the "loss table" and well set to take advantage of a transfer market that will be more realistic.

Salah contract - People are making far too big a deal of this. DeBruyne is in the last year of his City contract and no one has seemed to even notice, which is how it should be. Liverpool are not run by idiots, they can see the value Salah offers as a player. I fully expect they will put a contract on the table and we'll get at least 2 more years out of this guy before he has a serious decline. All of the drama will have been pointless hysteria and speculation.

Apparently we are breaking the youth wage structure to sign Rio Ngumoha from CFC's academy, and he is rated as the best they have. 2008.
