Caicedo, Zubimendi, Lavia, Tchouameni, Bellingham I find it really sad that our club cannot get these type of deals over the line. Ok if the player genuinely decides they don't want to come, that's fine, we want players who want to give even for the club. It's just such an own goal that Trent, Virg and Mo haven't had their contract situation sorted primarily. This then would give confidence to potential signings that the big boys are there still. How does Hughes not know this? Was Bournemouth his level? Only time will tell. But time is fast running out to prove it. I'd be happy if we prioritised those contracts, signed a left sided CB and Tony Gordon if Diaz leaves. A No6 would now be a bonus.

We played really well. And they were there for the taking.
Salah is really off it apart from the goal
Not sure we should persist with Gakpo and Nunez anymore. Jota, although can't trap a bag of sand, is our most natural finisher up top.

Why do we and other clubs make it hard for themselves by leaving signings to the last few days/ hours? Is it some sort of brinkmanship? Whoever blinks first? Because its a crappy way to do business and you get landed with an Arthur Melo.
Would we see it as a partial failure of our supposed "big summer spending" transfer window? I know I would.

I don't mean to sound cynical, but we spent £35 mill on Mac allister, loaned £60 million to buy Szoboszlai and are now being told that players need to leave before we buy anyone else. It would seem the "war chest" we were told about might be another load of LFC/ FSG spin. I'm happy to wait until September 1st but I can't help thinking we may be being taken for a ride here. Like most fans we just want to make sure we can challenge this season especially after the disappointment of last season. So it gets annoying when we seems to be still penny pinching for a club of our size.

Where we watching the same game? At 0-0 Henderson played about two forward balls. At 1-0 up he started passing forward. He plays so many blind passes it’s unreal. I’m not genuinely a Henderson bashes but he was at best a 5/10 today.
