As long as he's fit and been training well, I'd be tempted to go with Matip on Sunday. Seems a big ask of Williams or Philips to play in such a big game and you don't want to crush them after the high they must both be on. Matip's a time served pro - I'd put my trust in him.

Williams could very well be one for the future but does look a bit slow. That could be ruthlessly exposed on Sunday. Challenges well but the pace aspect has me concerned.

Philips looks like a good old blood n guts centre-half - again not particularly suited against City's fluid attack.

Also, if Thigao is fit he should be in contention. Seems like exactly the sort of game we got him for - to control the tempo and keep the ball. I'd go for him with Hendo and Gini - they both looked in fine form v Atalanta.

Up top the temptation to start Jota at centre forward is huge. He's bound to feature at some point anyway so leave that one to Klopp. Wouldn't it be typical of Bobby to play a blinder?

If we ever break our transfer record again I'd be more than happy with Jude Bellingham.

Makes you wonder why no English clubs got the deal done before he went to Dortmund. Probably due to game time I suspect.

I was sure we’d see Ox on for Shaqiri at the hour mark yesterday. Ox likes a shot and can cross, seemed to me the obvious replacement. Not having a dig at Klopp, just seemed the best option from the bench.

Also Taki for Bobby about the same time - fresh legs and all that. Can you imagine what a winner v Utd would’ve done for either of them?

Trent looked tired again. Maybe Neco could’ve come on for the last 15?

On the plus side, Fabhino, Thiago and Allison is still a great spine for any team. We go again, maybe the Cups could be the highlight this year? Then again, if we’re within 5 points of top spot come mid April you never know.

I said at the start it’ll take a very good side to take our title, but it may be the injuries will be the key factor.

Keep supporting the team and Klopp - they want to win for us as much we do.

Saw a nice comment from Ray Clemence when Bill Shankly announced his retirement. Bob Paisley told him we’re changing nothing, we’re just going to do it better. Hope the same happens when Klopp calls it a day, whoever comes in.

After the 96 Double and the missed doubles against Wimbledon in the FA Cup Final and Michael Thomas' last minute goal for Arsenal, I'd never have thought we'd wait 30 years for our next title. Yeah there was rebuilding to do but 30 years is a lifetime.

Then, even after the 2 consecutive Champs League Finals with Benitez, the dominance of Man U and emergence of Chelsea made it seem inconceivable we could better those 2 over a long season. Add a state sponsored Man City into the mix + a resurgent Tottenham and I wondered if we could ever win it again.

Leceister's incredible achievement needs to be recognised as it proved the clubs with the deepest pockets could be beaten but you always sensed it was unsustainable, especially as their best players upped and left.

Although a massive club, we couldn't compete in the market with the English and European super clubs which makes this such a marvellous achievement, however, due to our history and the presence of Klopp, it may actually be sustainable unlike Leicester.

One of the comments that struck me over the last few days was ex-players saying that in the late 70s and 80s they still felt they were playing for Shankly, keeping his standards and passion with a real sense of responsibility and pride. I hope the foundations laid by Klopp can have a similar effect after this glorious era passes, but for now be happy because that's why Klopp and the boys have worked so hard - to make us all proud and happy.

Postpone Euro 2020 to Summer 2021.

That leaves Summer 2020 free (ish) to hopefully re-schedule all the affected fixtures and complete all the current competitions.
