thoughts on the game tonight.
goalkeeper; did well still on the up
back 3; did ok skyrtel played ok lovren was ok gave away few needless balls especially 1 which is allways a no no straight across front of the box which was intercepted but went unpunished, toure again ok but he did intercept alot of crosses
centre midfield: root of all problems never good enough to link midfield with attack i wont delve much more into that
wingers: ibe one of his quieter games and at the way he is playing did very well without really threatening to take on the full back. moreno im a big fan you just know simply what you get with him tries 100% every game.
forwards: ballotelli i dont like but no one can say he didnt try, raheem just wasnt his night whether the disjointed midfield were part to blame at times is prob right but he has to hold the ball more in those situations. sturridge havent been impressed since his return he seems to be focused on himself before the team he just wont pass.
subs: manquillo hard to say anything other than he didnt have much of an effect. laillana he tries but its just not coming off for him but it will. lambert really tries but team structure isnt going to work for him hoped he would get the winner tonight for him more than for the team which i didnt think we deserved
i saw the lineup and thought great we are going to see a good away performance but cracks were appearing in the first half, second half those cracks became holes which besiktas exploited
players did not apply themselves in the right manner and you cant win a game if that is the scenario
I dont think ther was much wrong with the selection . i do think some players application just wasnt there
