First time posting on the site but having watched Liverpool for 40 plus years I am starting to get the fear that we are in decline.
For me, we have bought very very poorly. Wirtz, Isac and Barcola to say the least. Over 300 million and not one worth a penny over 40, 50 mill in today's market.
I like Uriola however too much tinkering has negative effect. Too many changes up front is killing us. Barcola leading the line, get a grip.
We have Isac, a decent No.9 striker but you can't keep trying to change that position the amount of times Iriola has. we have used Isac, Gakpo (Oh don't get me started on thst useless lump), Koumas and Barcola, possibly even Wirtz there and NOT 1 has looked great in it.
Midfield is major worry. An earlier post highlighted Dom is a headless chicken at times which I totally agree with. Huffs n puffs all over the park a bit like Fernandez for Utd and only does the odd bit of brilliance. A bit like Wirtz can create space but lacks taking a game by the scruff of the neck and boss a midfield. And that's my major worry, no leader in there who can dictate a game. As for Our wee angry diving Argi (MacAllister) he's a wee try hard but is no more than a mediocre players. I think about 90% of his balls go backwards or too the side.
Young Nyoni doing well but needs help in the middle.
At the back looking alright, few mistakes but decent defence. Big Virg clearly no longer bossing it and is definitely in decline.
Jacqueline is young n raw but he's an excellent defender as is big Ronnie.
Now our left back, ill not even go there, too much negativity especially to even steer. Both rotten. God I miss Robbo.
Right back a problem with no cert start in there is poor.
Poor buying and poor management have us in a precarious position. Sure we need to be positive but we are failing in the big games. city, arsenal etc.
Need to buy into a style and play to it, not tinker time after time.
Sorry for long winded post and negativity but don't want to go back to days of Rodgers, win a few, draw a couple, lose a few. We need consistency and that starts with getting a set 11 and style.
