And there I was deceiving myself that the lads and manager would give a good account of themselves tonight. I and many others have said it appears there is something going on behind the scenes, because this has got to the point of utter disbelief. I'm sure it will leak sooner or later about what has taken place, because trust me something has. Players can't motivate themselves. Klopp can't motivate himself or the players. Honestly, we could lose 20-0 and the following game there would be absolutely no response. I posted my theory a few weeks back on what I think has happened, but could be wide off the mark.

As for Klopp, I have said all I needed to say. Tactically he looks clueless and the thing is he will continue to use the same tactics until the end of the season, despite results and performances on a downward trajectory. And sadly it looks like the boys have zero fight in them so they will continue to put out the same effort. Only shining light is a new manager is coming in, which is looking like Amorim, because if it's not him then it's prayer time. The pool of managers after him to say is worrying would be an understatement.

We defend like a League 2 side and can't finish. I mean, what a combination. I expect a massive clear out, and when I say massive I mean most of this squad gone. Bring in quality in key areas (defence and striker) and promote the kids. You can literally get rid of that backline bar Quansah, Robbo, Trent, Bradley and that's just the backline never mind who I would move on in midfield and forward positions. Forget sentiments with Gomez, he would be sold. Konate if we are having an honest conversation has regressed as a defender. I had high hopes for him but he is so rash, and defensively is all over the shop. Oh, and he is injury prone. VVD is 33 years old in July, contract expires in 2025, is on big wages and again, if we are having an honest conversation ain't the same VVD. Matip's contract expires in the summer and won't and shouldn't be renewed. And lastly, why is Kostas still at the club? I don't care if a massive clear out sounds like a big job or drastic. That whole backline needs revamping because defence wins you titles and strikers win you games. Which is why I'm excited if Amorim does actually come, as it is said he will bring Gyokeres, Inacio and Diomande with him.

It appears a very bad mentality has swept through the squad and I would root it out. Leave alone that, a number of players are simply not good enough anyways. Plus, a lot of those have been played or kept around through Klopp's loyalty. Those players will be in for a shock once that shield has been removed come summer!

I'm proud of the boys. Got a little teary seeing VVD emotional at the final whistle. Proud of our captain. His first trophy as captain and many more to come.

Despite the atrocious and quite frankly inexcusable decisions I'm proud to be a red and proud of my team. It took a last minute own goal for Spurs to beat a 9 man team. We pick ourselves up and we go again and show why we can be title contenders. YNWA.

Apparently Chelsea have now reached an agreement with Southampton for Romeo Lavia. This weekend could see Chelsea signing both Lavia and Caicedo. Trying to stay positive here but if that happens and with the emphasis on the word if. Then I don't know where we go from here. We have operated like amateurs this window. Let's just call a spade a spade. Dithering for 4 weeks on a player haggling with 1-2 million increments between bids. Then making last minute decisions on a player we should have chases months ago. And this was described as the great rebuild. All of two players brought in, not to mention how many shipped out and we play our first game in under 48 hours.

We knew our midfield needed a refresh prior to Henderson and Fabinho leaving. Before the window started we should have made a DM a priority. Fabinho's legs had gone a long time ago and the back line was getting exposed day in day out so it's not like the issue crept out of nowhere. We apparently seem to be only capable of negotiating one deal at a time. Then let all our centre back targets drift away and then took a nice break between Szobo and Mac Allister to move onto a DM. But on top of that took a week break between bids for Lavia. And on top of that we have even got round to addressing the need for a CB. This is top tier comedy material.
