Hello! I suppose many of you are watching the Champions League. Just wanted to say that most referees, even from significantly weaker leagues, seem to maintain a higher standard than English referees. Considering the Premier League is regarded as perhaps the best league, it's very strange that they don't bring in the best referees. What's stopping that? The use of VAR is miles behind how it operates in Germany and Italy. There's almost never talk about referee performance after matchens there but in the PL it's almost after every match. What has gone so wrong?

If we end up above 6th place, I'll eat my hat. The football we play now is boring and slow, and we rarely create clear chances. Our defence is as poor as Everton's. Alison has made a few mistakes, but he has also saved us a lot of points and is, in my opinion, our best player.
How can Klopp turn this around when some of the players seem disinterested in being on the pitch (Salah, Fabinho, Ox, Naby, and even VVD)? Where do we go from here? I know a lot of people are blaming Lijnders, but we played like this last season too and still managed to do well if not great.
I personally feel that losing Mane is a big reason for our decline. He had great synergy with Trent and was constantly running behind their lines, causing major problems for the backline. Now, we have out of position players like Elliot or Ox who don't make the same runs, and Salah is like a ghost and doesn't pose any threat at all. As everyone has stated, we clearly need to renew our midfield.
In conclusion, we are not bringing in the right players for the way we play, with the exception of Diaz.
