The Chelsea game is huge. Am trying my best to not to let the 2014 game affect me but jeez it’s difficult!
Of course Hazard is primed for his annual Anfield performance again. With TAA and Matip’s shaky form right now I’d be tempted to bring Joe back early. I can’t see Klopp risking it though.
Can you believe we haven’t beaten Chelsea at Anfield since 2012 - and even that one was the dead rubber straight after that cup final defeat to them.
Ugh, this is stressful!

On the topic of the academy. Why is it that we don't produce many promising young centrebacks?
Quansah seems to be the first one to make it this close to the first team since Carragher.
We seem to have no problem producing fullbacks, technical midfielders, wingers and forwards.
Curious.

And finally, straight from the boss’ mouth. The demise of the “counterpress” started last season.
That was the first time I’ve heard him actually admit what is wrong and how they’ve struggled to rectify it. He even hinted that they were wrong to think they could get away with it and oppositions have capitalised on it this season.
A glimmer of hope for a course correct.

Klopp and the players have a lot of training time over the next month. Something they always say they don't get enough of in the season.
A clear week between Chelsea and Brighton.
A clear week between Brighton and Wolves.
A clear week and a bit more between Wolves and Everton.
A bit less than a week between Everton and Newcastle.
Then the business third of the season starts with the return of the CL.
This is where Klopp and Lijnders need to prove that "training is our transfer" is not a soundbite for a book.

So FIFA have gone and announced an expansion of the FIFA Club World Cup to 32 teams in 2025.
Honestly, these governing organisations are a joke.
Bets on who will be asked to host it?

I bet Lijinders regrets releasing that damn book in. We stopped playing with intensity 18 months ago - bar the odd game here and there. The desire and confidence in the system/ ideas seem to have evaporated.
