It'd be infinitely better if the money made available for VVD/ AOC went towards 2 full backs of genuine quality instead (what a spectacular waste of money VVD/ AOC would/ will be if either happens btw)
Also, we need to start showing some basic ethical and moral fibre in our actions and dealings and stop with this amateurish, blundering, cringeworthy, embarrassing, unprofessional conduct. I sincerely hope there are some serious disciplinary actions going on behind the scenes and firm plans in place to repair the huge reputational damage i. e. transfers, community work, charity work etc.

If not in ours, I hope that there's an alternative universe in which Sakho is forgiven, behaves and strikes up a mean partnership with Matip for many seasons to come, ably supported on the flanks by TAA and Juanma.

I really think that a proper quality keeper and phasing in Smith and Flanagan would make a huge difference to our defence.
Clearly much work is needed behind the scenes, just as much as in trimming the squad.
We have to move away from throwing money around on terrible deals to make any kind of sustainable growth and progress.

What (except 'energy') is it that Milner brings to the starting 11? Decent sub to have later on in matches when legs are tiring, but struggling badly with form.

Realistically, I see us struggling to get the right players off the books e.g. Balo and again wasting money on the wrong types of players e.g. Bogdan, Milner, Ings, Kova
Comms/PR at the club have been run by amateur hour for the last few years and whilst I appreciate FSG have and continue to do great things for our club, their appointments have been severely lacking in some key areas.
I sincerely hope that the "review" includes the toe-curling and sometimes horrendous PR gaffes and that the right advice and action is taken.
My suggestions would be the appointment of a hugely qualified, experienced, strong hand to properly mitigate and manage any potential further public embarrassments and to try and rebuild the club's previously hard-earned respect and trust.
No disrespect to James Milner, but the last thing we should do is break the bank for James Milner.
