We are creating our own downfall..same tactics over and over again even when it's not working..every team in the league must be happy to play against us because they already know what formation, tactics we are going to use..those players who played in mid week must be wondering what else they should do to convince this manager..they get dropped for the ones who should not be in starting 11..why was toure, lucas and borini dropped only rodgers know..after the match he said we deserved something from the game but actual thing we deserved nothing..you deserve something when you play well but when we play as bad as that we deserve nothing..maybe it's time for change..he'll get benefit of a doubt until sturridge returns..after that if still it's rubbish football then change should happen and it must start with the manager....
Eds, what is your thought on today's game?do you think rodgers time is up?

Sorry pressed the submit button before I could reply.
Yes imo it is time for Rodgers to go. I mean toure kept the best player in the world in his back pocket midweek and he gets dropped. He is necessarily forcing Gerrard into a position everyone knows he can't play. He continues with one striker. And there is more. Sturridge won't come and solve every single one of our problems. Now I am actually wishing that we play bad si that br gets sacked

2.) When sturridge returns, he is forced to play with 2 upfront even he doesn't like it..and whenever we have played it we have actually played well..

{Ed042's Note - but sturridge won't solve the lack of any sense at defending corners or set pieces nor will he compensate for the pressing missing from the whole team. And who knows if br will play 2 upfront when sturridge returns. After spending 120 million if we are so dependent on one player then something is seriously wrong

3.) Yeah bringing sturridge back in will not solve our defensive problems though..that means sacking him is rhe only way to get things right..bring someone who sets up his team to be tactically good and play with shape and balance maintained..doesn't necessarily be free flowing hollywood type one touch passing and quick attacking game..but everything about our game should be balanced from offence to defence..Eds, do you know anyone with such qualities who is viable for us?

{Ed042's Note - klopp would be the best option but would be probably unattainable. De boer though inexperienced would be the best option

4.) Can't see Klopp leaving BVB halfway through the season. We might get him during the summer. I can't see BR being sacked, he will get until the end of the season.

In his 1st season, though he was making mistakes, i thought he was learning from it..2nd half of the season we started to play well..in his 2nd season, he set up the team to play to their strength and it was certainly showing in the performances and we played some of the best football seen in a long time but this season our performance has regressed a lot..and it is mainly down to rodgers stubborness..he is neither learning nor changing anything when it is not working..our team looks lost..apart from 1 player, this is the same team that finished 2nd last season..Eds, what is your view on brendan rodgers?do you think it's time for him to move on?

{Ed044's Note - Up to yesterday, I would have said no. The sale of Suarez, combined with the loss of Sturridge has been a big blow, and although the word 'transition' has been incorrectly used, it was always going to take time to bed new players in. I disagree with the views of some that last year we were lucky to get second because everyone else was crap, and that BR doesn't deserve any credit. He seemed to show last year that he was able to mix things up and change the system according to the opposition and players available, and seemed tactically astute. I disagree with the idea that he was naive against Chelsea. We were on a brilliant run playing scintillating football, and changing to a more defensive mindset would probably have just as likely cost us on the day.
However, what concerns me now, is that all the thought and adaptability of last season has been replaced by stubborn blindness. He refuses to shift from his beloved 433, which has NEVER worked for us. This is even though after every game he bangs on about 'good possession, but lacking in the final third' which is exactly what 433 gives you (unless you happen to have Messi up front..). I could understand if the loss of Sturridge scuppered his plans somewhat, after all he played two up front against Spurs and look what happened, but Studge missing is no excuse. Not once since Spurs have we even tried starting with two strikers. Whether it's because he doesn't trust Borini or Lambert is irrelevant, we had money to spend in the summer and he didn't strengthen in the right areas.
Is it time for him to go? It depends how stubborn he is in the next couple of games. If he plays the same flawed system midweek and next weekend then I would have to say yes....}

I also think last season was not a fluke..you have to play well to beat a team no matter how weak they are..and we were thrashing big teams home and away..so it definitely means we were playing to our strength and rodgers should be given credit for that..people may reason that losing to chelsea and losing the title race was down to him but still he took us to 2nd place..but I think next two games is the biggest game of his Liverpool career..we have to beat chelsea to get back some momentum for top 4 finish as i can't see us beating real madrid at their own backyard..at best we can hope for a draw there which is still very tough to get..but if we lose both the games i can see rodgers getting sacked before january..hope he can see his job is hanging on a thread here and change the tactics and be more aggressive and incisive during attack..we have never defended well since rodgers came and i can't see that changing..so the only way is playing with 2 upfront( balotelli and borini best option) and attacking like we did last season..

Don't know what mignolet was trying to do before we conceded 2nd and 3rd goal!completely his fault and left the goal exposed..

Ed, what perfect lines you have chosen. we have to suck it up and move on and look forward to next season. no point in discussing things which cannot be rectified. i am sure klopp will learn from this. i am really excited for what liverpool can do under him next season.

This unwillingness of changing the way of playing, when it is clear that it is not working a bit, is costing liverpool the points and ultimately the season and probably costing the manager his job..i think owners need to talk to rodgers about this season and ask if some help is needed or not because we can see that he clearly needs help
