There was an interesting stat during the game, we are well ahead of the top 4 in shots on goal by a long way. Bearing this in mind and with all due respect to our front men, with a natural goalscorer which are rare i think we are in with a shout and could have won the lge. Gakpo and Gravenberch were good today, the foul on Macca was a yellow minimum, that decision stank apparantly the player did not use enough force for it to be a clear and obvious error by the ref. What was they wanting a broken leg? Blood, Macca subbed?

All this guy can do is smile, like show some emotion man, the team feeds off the manager, klopp is actually happy when the opponents get a goal. It was a huge mistake making the announcement so early of him leaving but it was a bigger mistake keeping him in charge when he wasnt interested and had no ambition and drive to achieve anything this season.

Under a manager that is hungry for success you will see these players come alive again, right now they all look as clueless as klopp is.

I wonder if new manager will shaft it up the slot for players who don't defend well, or go make new slots for better defensive players or worse cause porous defence to become slots and big gaps for opposing attackers.

I’m dreading next season under Slot. This could be one of the worst managerial signings in our history. Worse than Roy Hodgson. I do hope I am wrong.

I’ve seen a lot of people blaming Trent for the second goal the other night. While I do agree he should have done better, why on earth is he left with Calvert Lewin who is going to beat him in the air every single time. This is why i despise zonal marking! Just gives the attacking team all the advantage of targeting the weaker opposition players!

Obviously an interesting and anxiety filled time for fans.

Klopp was a real difference maker so I’m not making a direct comparison between Slot and Klopp. But my thinking is that before Klopp came in, the vast majority of fan opinion on the squad at that time would have been that they couldn’t win this or that or even be competitive.

Enter Klopp and a European final that first half season.

Again not a direct comparison but my encouragement to everyone is to see the potential in the players we have and how a new environment can help them to improve.

It may be u popular to say this, but we’re not a useless team. Anyone coming in has a fantastic squad to build upon.

The players should hang their heads in shame, with the exception of Diaz (who I can't believe we are talking about as a possible exit) and also Alisson who can't be blamed for anything last night.

Derby match, title run in, chance to go back joint top of the table. For some of them, possibly the last chance to win a (or another) league title. And they turn up like that.

I can't absolve Klopp of blame though. How on earth he and the coaching staff could look at recent matches and performances and conclude that Nunez, Salah, Jones and Szoboszlai should play last night is beyond me.

Salah, Nunez and Szoboszlai have been awful lately, actually anonymous in Szoboszlai and Salah's cases. We made some changes for the Fulham match and brought in Gakpo, Jota and Gravenberch and it was the best performance of late, with two of them scoring. Why on earth change it back? There was no reason or justification for Salah, Nunez or Szoboslai to come back in (I know Jota was injured) . Danns could not have done worse and would likely have scored one of those chances had it fallen to him.

Looks like the end of the road for Salah. Nunez I think can still have a role but he can't be the guy we have in front of goal when the big chances fall in the crucial matches. Szoboszlai is almost back to square one. I think he can still be a brilliant player for us but early season Gerrard comparisons seem a long way away. Similar contribution level to Keita of late. Needs to reset for next season.

Everyone on about Salah but does anyone think Robertsons legs are also gone? He was awful last night and is 31 now and tsimikas ain't much good, we could be in big trouble going forward if we don't move some of the old on.
